About
Dr. Peleg Kremer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and the Environment at Villanova University, where she also serves as Program Director for Environmental Studies. Her lab focuses on spatial patterns in social-ecological systems and urban sustainability. Using interdisciplinary approaches in spatial analysis, GIS, and remote sensing, she investigates the relationships between urban environmental and ecological processes and the built environment, with active programs of work on urban heat, air quality, flooding, green stormwater infrastructure, and equitable access to green space in Philadelphia and other US cities.
She is currently Co-PI on four NSF awards and two William Penn Foundation grants, Associate Editor of Sustainable Cities and Society, and recipient of the 2023 Villanova Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Geographic Information Systems, urban sustainability, and the built environment, and has mentored more than two dozen graduate and undergraduate researchers since 2022.
She holds a PhD in Energy and Environmental Policy from the University of Delaware.
